wrap your words

Poetic Paper How To: {courtesy of Miss Martha Stewart)
In your best writing, copy some sweet script onto any "wrappable" paper. An old typewriter would also give your gift wrap a romantic touch.Try using thick, satin ribbon to top your present off. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even transcribe a little love note on your ribbon. Cute? Uh yes!

tux me

We have finally decided on a cream colored suit for the boys - much like this one below. We are definitely going for the light pink tie for all the boys & we're still trying to decide if Ben will have a little something different. He'll be the only one with a boutonnière for two reasons: One - so that he stands out a little more, and two - it's a definite way to cut down on floral costs, particularly when you have seven groomsmen! I put my dress up next to the cream suit and once my Mom, her friend and my sister saw it, they were finally on board although it took a ton of convincing prior that I knew what I was talking about! It feels good to get that decision out of the way. It's a big one and when you have such a large wedding party, all the coordination takes a lot of time to plan. Done and done! P.S. My Dad's tip of the day (all the way from Africa): don't forget why you are getting married. It's not about all the fancy plans, it's about you & your partner and if nothing else, you just need to get there and make that commitment in front of the people who matter the most. Thanks Dad for being there today to remind me what our wedding day is really all about!

Dress Day ...

My Mom, her best friend and my sister went with me to Victoria yesterday to pick up my dress and we brought it back home with us! I have only gotten into it ONCE since yesterday at the store and I have a good explanation of why (lol! The dress came with tiny cap sleeves which I refused to try it with although sitting alone with my dress last night (Ben's away for the weekend), my curiosity of what the small strap/sleeve might look began to grow. I'm sure am glad I tried it because I LOVED IT! My sister saddled me all up in it this morning & we took a look just the two of us at the difference they made. That will be the last try on for a while and now that I'm a happy girl, it's going to live in my closet for the next four months. P.S. Blush Bridal really is the sweetest little shop with the sweetest owners ever ... does this card not say it all?

boots & rain!

How pretty is the idea of wearing a classy leather chocolate brown boot with your dress? Definitely ideal for a rustic affair. And those cardigans are so so sweet! I don't know if I'm the 'sweet' type but I love the sweet style. I think I'm too far into planning to change my wedding day style into sweet but it's undeniably gorgeous and you generally can't go wrong.
