Adrienne {Introducing Beanilla Boutique}

Adrienne approached me about taking a few images for her soon to be launched, might I add, amazingly pretty online boutique - Beanilla,  an online clothing boutique housing pretty pieces with a vintage touch.
Adrienne is the gal behind it all. I've seen her pieces in person and they are calling my name ... every single one of them (seriously). The dresses are divine and the jewels are spectacular. Of course, she's drenched in Beanilla attire in her images below from her mini session we did last week. We were forced indoors due to the true to form west coast weather but it didn't stop us. As soon as Adrienne launches her boutique, I'll be sure to post. Can I just mention how seriously gorgeous this girl is ...

OH LA LACE

This lace covered wire hanger is so pretty. Perfect way to beautify a space to hang your way too many pretty jewels. Cherie {who is my ultra chic Vancouverite cousin}  ... this feels like a project for you! That is if you can even find an old wire hanger in your place but the thrift store will have one for sure :)

back with some vintage love

First up is an apology for the lack of blog posts! While I love my blog, I've been doing lots of other things that I love as well. Lots of photography, lots of cuddles with my new nephew ~ baby Eli and of course, I've been back to school to this week. On to the good stuff ~ does anyone else love, love, love this shabby chic vintage inspired baby nursery? Pretty simple, pretty sweet. I think this is Tori Spelling's nursery for her little love ~ Stella. I love the idea of using wallpaper as a mean feature for a room. I've been tempted many times to use it in our condo, although, since we rent, I know it's not necessarily the best idea ... for now! One day, it will happen!

father's day brunch

Today Ben & I made a very yummy Father's Day brunch at our place for his Dad! His Mom, my Mom and my brother came along too. And for my Dad, we had to be a little more creative since he's away in Africa. SO all six of us took photos holding words that described our Dad. I put it all together in a mosaic format and emailed it to him last night because that was his Father's Day morning. It's not the same as a warm cup of tea celebrating around the dining table with your wife and kids but hopefully it felt just as good. I know it did for us.

Brunch this morning consisted of Ben's waffles and fresh whip cream, an abundance of organic strawberries, grapes, orange slices, organic vanilla yogurt, lemon & lavender scones, and rye crackers with the world's best Comox Valley Brie cheese! I was aiming to have lots of wild flowers in bright hues and I bundled them all in my favorite mason jars. I also decided to try placing a bunch or two in wine glasses, which I thought looked pretty cute. I placed all the cutlery in an over sized glass canister and we were able to use lots of our serving ware we received for wedding gifts. I love our white serving tray my best girlfriends from high school gave to me for my bridal shower. It's so pretty! Today was a lovely day with a ton of just right breeze and we couldn't have asked for a better day for a Father's Day patio brunch. Ben and I both have amazing Fathers who have both contributed countless hours of love and support to us as we've grown first on our own and continue to now as we grow along side each other. Happy Father's Day to our Dad's!

DIM (Do it Myself)

Just another sneak peak at my DIM projects. I'm feeling pretty proud - I dismantled my Ikea chandelier all by myself today without any technical support from my handy man Ben. It's probably my favorite thing thus far. Although, since Ben has just about as much free time as I have right now, I'm going to have to suck my Dad into building me some type of pretty canopy or arbor so we can actually hang the chandelier.

I also added cream ribbon to big mason jars and added a vintage charm to each one. There's six of them to hold the girls' bouquets on the head table at the reception. I decided to try making an over sized cupcake garland with coffee filters. It's big and fluffy looking and I quite like it. I still don't know where or even if I'll be able to use it for the wedding decor but I'd like to try! The bottom photo is a fabric flower I made but I'm not sure what it's purpose is quite yet! I'm not at all sure how much money these DIM decor projects have saved me although probably quite a bit in reality. Although, I'm starting to try and really wind down because all the little bits here and there add up pretty quick!

peacock charm

Just a little bit of early prettiness or is it pretty early? How lovely is this bleached peacock feather bouquet? The long length definitely adds drama. Stick to vintage neutrals with a theme like this. Like natural floral choices fresh out of the garden and don't skimp on the leafy greenery, choose charming mason jars and glass milk bottles to house your floral arrangements. Other antiques like a small, old wooden chair add lots of character to your event!

Mod Cloth Love

I stumbled across Mod Cloth a few days ago during my desperate search for the perfect vintage inspired soles. It didn't take me long to realize I was hooked. Right now they're featuring a sort of Alice in Wonderland inspired section! Has everyone seen the new movie? I am so excited to see it! I keep holding off because I'm so looking forward to it that I already don't want it to end. I love Disney movies and I LOVED Alice! Check out Mod Cloth right away if not sooner & check out their pretty pretty pieces. * Like the PB & J wallet and the belt buckle bangle! * Below are just a few of my favorite picks from their collections.

* Power Bloom Dress $47.99 *
What an amazing price point but I would want this either way. I even like the grey attached tank which makes it more everyday than perhaps it might be without. I still don't have a floral dress - I know! I've been looking but I need to commit!

* In The Bow Raspberry Heel $99.99 *
Need there be anymore said?!

* From Little Acorns Scarf $29.99 *
I'm totally into pairing a scarf with your outfits - dressed up or down. I have a TON & anyone who knows me, knows I wear them with almost everything. But a scarf with tiny acorns on it ... how cute.

* Peter Silver Tail Bunny Ring $14.99 *
I own plenty of fashion rings but don't wear many of them anymore. This bunny ring is so sweet but I would definitly be more inclined to wear it if I wore it without my wedding rings. Sometimes I feel like it's all just too much!

pretty plates

Just a little pretty inspiration on a sunny Friday afternoon. Wouldn't this be a sweet idea for a small reception? Small reception ... oh how I wonder what that might feel like. I am starting to see just how quickly the dollar signs can soar while planning your wedding. Although it's been a lot of fun getting into the creative aspect of the whole day, some days I wish we had taken a trip and done our nuptials over seas ... somewhere hot & sunny and of course beachy! But I am very much looking forward to seeing all of our hard work come together on our happy day and I can`t wait to see all the people we love huddled into one place. Happy weekend all!

tea for two

I was able to find other brides who luvd the idea just as much as me - using vintage tea cups or china at your wedding. We will be having teacups and saucers as centerpieces with peony or large light blushy pink rose heads in the middle of the cup (depends if we can get enough in the first week of June). Lots of candleaubras with oversized clear vintage charms, light pinks, fushias and creams, and the best part (besides my darling fiance) - we will be married at the gardens underneath a chandelier. I lovvvvve it all and I can't wait to see it all set up and waiting for us.
